SUZY GLAM GOES ROTTERDAM
Amsterdam based eyewear label Suzy Glam has popped up in the ‘Pannekoekstraat’ in Rotterdam, a vibrant area for small fashion shops and fusion restaurants.‘We wanted to do something positive when the Corona crisis started’, says Etienne Frederiks of Suzy Glam, ‘and then at the same time Mike Portier of Blick brillen said his neighbour was moving out. We both saw the opportunity of a small Suzy Glam store.’
The design of the shop is a true mixture of Suzy Glam Amsterdam and blick brillen Rotterdam. Susanne Klemm of Suzy Glam wanted to integrate their ‘Amsterdam chic’ with the ‘Rotterdam laid back coolness’. ‘I think we succeeded, and we are very happy with the result. This street is a real shopping street for non-conformist people, and we feel very comfortable here’.
The temporary store can be visited during opening hours of blick brillen.

ABOUT SUZY GLAM
Suzy Glam attaches great importance to a sculptural way of designing. Instead of starting from a drawing or a computer render, all models are primarily shaped by hand, then fitted and adjusted again. In this way, the design is literally formed on the face. Suzy Glam is convinced that this method gives a different result from designing in the more traditional two-dimensional way.
The three-dimensional approach to the design, combined with the superb fit, produces styles that are perfectly balanced as object and accessory. Although Suzy Glam recognizes the history of eyewear, she wants to go beyond 'retro' and create a collection suitable for a new generation of eyewear lovers.
